The Egghead brewery had its first brew day at Force Brewery in Cirencester on 29th October 2014. 400 litres or so are now happily fermenting away of our inaugural beer - Wild West. We're expecting it to be crisp and clean on the palate and to come in at around the 5.0-5.2% ABV. It should be beautifully hoppy with a massive 12.5g/l of Simcoe as the aroma hop. Mmmm hops.
We've done some similar brews on our pilot kit and we're reasonably confident but scaling up recipes 20 fold is a bit alarming.
Charles Malet - owner of Force Brewery - was very much in control and since his beer won the Champion Beer of Gloucestershire at the Postlip Hall beer festival this year we were in good hands and his knowledge and expertise has been invaluable.
