I imagine there's going to be a fair bit of hay cut, turned and bailed this week and we've released our latest thirst-quencher just in time.
Sly Saison is a Belgian/French style beer made with an English malt bill and with the added extra of Lemon Verbena. We ferment it all with an excellent Belgian farmhouse yeast.
The aroma is all about the yeast. Close your eyes and your in a bar in Brussels. The taste is smooth and balanced with a hint of lemon from the herbs and spice from the yeast. It finishes very clean and dry.
The result is one of the most moreish beers we've ever produced and also one of the most food friendly. It pairs brilliantly with simply prepared fish and shellfish - a pint of prawns and a pint of Sly is a mtach made in heaven.
It made its debut at the Red Lion beer festival in Cricklade last weekend and is going to hit the bars very soon. It's also going to be available in bottles in a few weeks time.
