We're launching "Smeechy" - our smoked amber ale this week. It's been a long time in the making but it's finally in a version we're happy to release. It combines pale and Munich malts with a hefty slug of Beech-smoked malt (rauchmalz in German) from the home of Smoked Beer - Bamberg.
Working on the widely held belief that anything tastes better with added bacon, we've been planning a smoked ale since day one. This beer originally started off as a porter but we really wanted to showcase the smoke so have backed it up with a lighter body.
It's a beer you can drink with food - it goes particularly well with steaks - but is also a beer for a session.
